Alice lives a sheltered, controlled life. Her troubles and obligations weigh very heavily on her. Then, one day, while visiting one of the most beautiful locations in the world — Cape Town, South Africa — she is presented with a rare opportunity to escape from her suffocating prison.
But, life rarely gives free second chances and soon she finds herself on a dangerous rollercoaster ride of self-discovery, love and betrayal that pushes her to the very limits of her sanity.
Meanwhile, P.I. Toni Mendez is faced with her own, personal, crossroads. So, when a simple missing person case in a coveted holiday destination crosses her desk, she grabs it as an ideal opportunity to take time out to think. Little does she know, this case won’t be the stroll on a beach she had hoped for.
